What is HP's closed-loop recycling system?
HP's closed-loop recycling system allows customers to return used Original HP Cartridges through the HP Planet Partners program. In this system, nearly every part of the ink or toner cartridge is recycled or reused, preventing waste from ending up in landfills. The recycled materials are then used to create new Original HP Cartridges, contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy.
How does recycling with HP Planet Partners work?
Recycling with HP Planet Partners is straightforward. You can order free shipping labels, envelopes, or boxes to send your used cartridges back. Alternatively, you can drop them off at participating locations at no cost. If you have a larger quantity, such as more than 76 toner cartridges or over 1,000 ink cartridges, you can schedule a free pallet pickup. This program has seen over 1 billion cartridges returned as of December 31, 2022.
What percentage of recycled content is in HP cartridges?
Original HP Toner Cartridges contain between 1-79% post-consumer or post-industrial recycled content, while 88% of Original HP Ink Cartridges include between 5-75% recycled content. This commitment to using recycled materials helps reduce waste and supports sustainability efforts.
